English Valleys downed by New London in regular season finale
NEW LONDON - Junior quarterback Drew Fisher had his hand in almost every score.
In the regular season finale against New London Fisher threw for two touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough as the Bears were defeated 56-22 by New London on Oct. 18.
Fisher was able to complete five of his 12 passes for 86 total yards and two touchdowns. He threw one interception. He also carried the ball 11 times for -9 yards in the game.
A pair of sophomores caught the touchdown passes. Everett Bender caught a 20-yard touchdown pass for his only reception of the game.
Colton Mikesell was able to catch one pass for a nine-yard touchdown.
A third touchdown was scored for the Bears when Keyden Lown was able to recover a fumble, and return it from midfield for a 40-yard touchdown.
English Valleys finishes the regular season 1-7. They have opted to have a ninth-game. This week the Bears will host Easton Valley (4-4).
