SK Bowling Rolls By Newton

     During their first meet since winter break, both the boys and the girls SK high school varsity bowling teams were in action at home on January 6th at Keokuk County Bowl.

     SK’s senior Jayden Montgomery was the overall leader of the entire girls meet with a 416 two-game series comprised of a 192 and a 224 game. Kaylie Montgomery posted a 352 series and Sophie Young followed closely with a 350 series. Addison Richardson (313), Calli McCoid (233) and Logan Bray (221) rounded out the SK girls’ team. When Baker games were complete the SK girls bested the Newton girls by 352 pins and a total score of 2375 to Newton’s 2023. 

     The SK boys’ varsity bowlers battled the talented Newton team. It was a close meet all the way through the final Baker game. After all the pins that were knocked down and calculated, SK came out victorious by a 68-pin margin. SK’s Owen Clark led the entire meet with a high game of 245 and the high series of 462. Wells Clark followed with a 415 two-game series. Landyn Greiner (412), Liam VanVoltenburg (365), Aiden Greiner (315) and Caden Meyer (243) completed the boys’ varsity team.

     Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m. at Cardinal Lanes in Newton for a multi-school tournament.
